There are many reputable sites providing valuable information from their 2017 surveys. These statistics can equip Human Resources (HR) Professionals with the knowledge and insight from their fellow organizations to move forward in 2018 with an idea of what other employers’ trends and focuses are, as well as top concerns and desires from workforce employees and jobseekers in the nation.

When it comes to being engaged with their work and in organizations, employees are 3x more likely to be actively engaged because they were given daily feedback on their performance from managers. The takeaway here for employers should be to look at their current reviews and incorporate more of a continuous “check-in” strategy rather than just an annual performance review.

Part of being engaged at work also has to do with company culture. If you want to positively affect your culture, 90% of employees believed that incorporating wellbeing programs would do the trick! This is saying employers should start shifting from having just the traditional health programs and introduce additional incentives like mental, emotional, or financial help and other developmental interests.

With that being said, if you’re going to start incorporating additional programs, mental and emotional health should be a top priority. Why? 85% of employees stated that having a greater ability to manage their stress levels will positively affect how they participate at work.

Employers may even want to consider offering in-house programs like the ones above that help keep a large majority of employees engaged, happy, and healthier while at work.

And, the statistics show that this is already trending…

77% of employers are said to start implementing these types of programs in 2019, and 70% more are projected to do so within the next two years. These expansions on existing plans will include mental health and financial wellness initiatives. Currently, there are 59% of employers already taking charge and boosting their employees’ engagement with wellbeing programs.
