The future or the hiring and recruitment processes are being shaped all over the globe! In particular, there are several identified trending factors at work molding each process. What we are seeing is a huge shift in mindset; focusing on diversity, candidate assessment tools, data, and artificial intelligence.
More importantly, we are determining how each of these trends will transform our hiring and recruitment practices moving forward.
Diversity
Diversity has been identified as the number one top talent trend for 2018 by LinkedIn’s survey, which you can read here. However, this should really come as no shock since diversity has been trending the past 2 years as well. You can also take a look at our previous blog, Diversity as a Top Talent Trend, for a more in depth discussion on how organizations are recognizing the undeniable value of having a diverse workforce.
Technology
Technology has become an overall key factor and tool in our society, especially when it comes to hiring the right talent for your organization. Candidate assessment tools will allow you to view your candidates’ measurable traits prior to hiring, and identify who your top performers will be. We are also seeing more and more cognitive testing being performed, measuring from problem-solving skills, testing specific work sample simulations, and identifying personality and behavioral characteristics.
Data
Data will be especially important to pay attention to in 2018. We’re not just talking about the data you track and analyze, but rather predictive data instead. With the ability to run data analysis and predict future hiring outcomes, this type of recruitment strategy is a game-changer! Recruitment professionals will be able to let the computers do most of the grunt work in the near future.
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is often associated with predictive data. AI will provide you with the data and information needed to work faster and in a more accurate fashion! How? AI can assist in areas like filtering candidates with preliminary codes and questions, and even scheduling interviews. But it goes even further than that. There are some cases where a virtual assistant becomes a candidate’s very first point of contact in the recruitment process! This takes engaging prospects to a whole new, virtual level.
